Our logo is an oak tree, symbolising history. Some of our oaks are over 300 years old. Oaks support more life than any other native tree in Britain. We don’t want to remain in the past but wish to use our resources to breathe life into our local community, individuals and organisations from further afield.
Bretforton Manor dates back to the Mediaeval era when it was owned by Evesham Abbey. It was acquired by Henry VIII and passed on to Elizabeth I.
The Ashwin family were gifted the manor by Elizabeth. They built a new manor in 1605 and used some of the wood from an Armada ship in the entrance hall.
The Ashwins owned Bretforton Manor until 1983. Various owners have since restored and modernised the property. During recent years, the gardens were redesigned by Paul Williams to respect the heritage whilst also incorporating contemporary features.
We are proud to partner with the
The Freedom Day Centre, which provides support for adults with learning difficulties. They use our facilities and also organise fund raising events in our grounds. We are delighted they also have a logo of a tree.
Bretforton Garden Club who host an annual Open Gardens event each June using our grounds to raise money for local charities. This year it is on Sunday 2nd June 2024 11am-5pm.
Bretforton Show, which occurs in September, is a showcase for the talents of all those in the village and also raises money for local charities. This year it is on Saturday 14th September 2024.
